About Our Tiny Bees

Our journey

Our Tiny Bees started, quite literally, with bees.

After a few years of keeping bees with my dad, we found ourselves with a fair amount of honey and beeswax. I also had permanently dry lips, so with a bit of research I made a few lip balms.

They worked. People wanted them. So I made more.

Eventually I approached a small health food shop in Manchester and they ordered 80.

And that was really the beginning.

What started with one useful little lip balm gradually became a full range of natural skincare, and more than a decade later we’re still making it ourselves here in Yorkshire.

We like useful skincare

We’ve always had a fairly simple rule:

If it isn’t useful, it doesn’t go in.

There are plenty of beautifully packaged pots of skincare in the world. We’d rather make products that earn their place in your bathroom cabinet.

So we start with good natural ingredients — plant oils, butters, British beeswax and carefully chosen essential oils — and use them to make straightforward skincare that moisturises, softens and protects your skin.

No unnecessary fillers. No synthetic fragrance. No trying to make skincare more complicated than it needs to be.

What’s in a name?

Why Our Tiny Bees?

Because they aren’t really yours or mine.

They’re our bees.

Bees are hugely important, and all of us can do small things to support them. For us, that means working directly with British beekeepers, using British beeswax in many of our products and supporting the people who look after the bees in the first place.

Every little helps.

Made by us in Yorkshire

Our skincare is still made in small batches here in Yorkshire.

We make the products, fill the tins and jars and pack the orders ourselves.

That means Our Tiny Bees has grown, but it has never become a faceless skincare company.

We still know what goes into every product, why it is there and who we made it for.

And we rather like it that way.
